2015 A-M. Brégeon Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine sur lie «Original»
Region: France, Loire Valley - Pays-Nantais
Grape Variety: Melon de Bourgogne
Dry, light-bodied white; smoky, tangy | Raw oysters
8 months on the lees and a gloss of malolactic fermentation give this a roundness and texture that makes it an outstanding example of what Melon de Bourgogne can achieve.
The domaine will be certified organic in 2019. Before certification, founder Andre-Michel and his protégé Frédèric Lailler were always strong believers in manual harvesting. With their painstaking attention to detail, yields are restricted to 30 hl/ha. Vines across the estate have an average age of 60 years and are rooted in gabbro (a volcanic bedrock rarely found in wine country, that yields fruit with highly concentrated flavours).
