MV Nyetimber Cuvee Chérie
Region: England, Sussex
Farming: Conventional
Grape Varieties: Chardonnay
Sparkling, off-dry white; soft and seductive | Foie gras
This historic estate in England’s sleepy South Downs broke the mould through the work of Head Winemaker Cherie Spriggs together with her husband Brad Greatrix. Growing only the three classic Champagne grapes, which slowly ripen to perfection in sheltered sites, Nyetimber has shaken up the wine world as it lives up to its mission to rival the world’s best sparkling wines.
Nyetimber has a vision to craft English sparkling wines that can see you through from appetiser to pudding. The Cuvee Chérie is a Demi-Sec style sparkling wine, that naturally works a treat with afternoon tea or delicate desserts like fruit tarts and meringues. But don't be too hasty to pigeonhole this wine: a good backbone and tart lemony, tangerine notes mean that this would also cut through rich dishes like unagi kabayaki, crab and dishes with fragrant lemongrass.
The Cuvee Chérie was launched in Singapore in May 2019. It is a rebranded bottling of Nyetimber's earlier Demi-Sec. This is the same wine that many of you know and love, but in an even more stunning bottle.
