Dry med-bodied white; powdered apples | Grilled leek

With the tenacity of an American spirit and the allure of French je-ne-sais-quoi, this Chardonnay is big on its nose and body, with some pineapple and herbaceousness coming through. Succulent fruit, subtle oak, silky texture - all hallmarks of Ehren's Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. It's ready to drink now (but will age), delicious on its own (but sensational with a good hard cheese), and astonishingly good value.

Ehren Jordan converted to oenology half-way through a degree in archaeology. Having trained under Jean-Luc Colombo in the Rhône, his Californian wines exhibit some European influence, particularly in the restraint which he achieves by seeking out cooler sites. Setting up his own winery in 1998, Ehren grows and bottles only Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and very small quantities of Syrah under the Failla label. Ehren also manages Day Zinfandel, which is a pet project dedicated exclusively to Zinfandel wines.

We do also carry some beautiful Single Vineyard wines by Ehren, but unfortunately these are on very limited allocations so they are currently out of stock. Please feel free to register your interest, and get on the waiting list for these wines.
