Ehren Jordan, the winemaker behind Failla, set up Day especially to craft Zinfandel wines. The story behind the winery is that he stumbled across an old apple orchard, and saw the potential of the terroir for sizzling Zin. Although the vineyard practices and winery philosophy are very similar to those at Failla, Day holds a very different place in Ehren's heart. It's a home-coming for the vigneron who started out his career at Turley, not far from this Day plot in St Helena.
